Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPCA), Certified Social Worker (CSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing high-quality trauma-informed care and will have experience and training in providing trauma-focused treatment within various therapeutic settings. This role involves working with individuals, families, and groups to treat mental health conditions associated with traumatic and stressful life experiences, address general mental health challenges (e.g. anxiety, depression, fluctuating or overwhelming mood experiences, ADHD impairments, etc.), develop coping strategies, and promote overall well-being. The LPCA, CSW, or LMFTA will play a critical role in supporting clients through their healing journey while adhering to ethical standards and best practices in social work, professional counseling, or marriage and family therapy.

This is a clinical position in which the incumbent provides client care within the office setting via in-person or Telehealth (when applicable) specifically to children and adolescents though also to adults of all ages. The Trauma-Informed Counseling Center values the accessible provision of mental health services to clients of all backgrounds and life experiences. The incumbent will also work collaboratively with fellow clinical mental health counselors and targeted case managers (TCMs) to provide child/adolescent/adult assessments and diagnoses, family/individual counseling, formulate treatment plans, provide clients/families with education, and prepare medical records and refer clients for intensive outpatient programming or inpatient psychiatric care in accordance with statutes, regulations, and protocols regulating the LPCA, CSW, LMFTA professions.
Qualifications
- Master's degree (MA or MS) or equivalent in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or a related field
- Two to Three (2-3) years of related post-graduation experience and/or training
- Bilingual in Spanish is encouraged but not required.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills:
- Demonstrate ability to keep accurate and complete charts, client records, required data forms/processes
- Demonstrate ability to perform additional duties such as facilitating client support groups, individual/group counseling, develop therapeutic activities for child/adolescent clients
- Demonstrate the ability to represent the practice in a professional manner with community-based collaborative partnerships
- Proficiency in PTSD care methodologies.
- Proficiency with differential diagnosis processes related to DSM-5.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
- Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads efficiently while maintaining attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Perform mental health related and other risk assessments in accordance with practice standards.
- Develop counseling interventions using evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of each client in coordination with the client and/or their family.
- Provide individual and/or family counseling services.
- Make referrals to appropriate services and follow up on referrals of targeted clients through phone calls, emails, etc.
- Work closely with TCMs to provide meaningful clinical care to clients.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and other documentation in a timely manner and aligned with the standards of both the profession and the agency.
- Attend trainings to expand knowledge of current intervention options
- Provide culturally appropriate counseling through the use of cultural humility and cultural responsiveness, and when appropriate and guided by the client, integrating the client's identified cultural or spiritual/religious values and strengths into therapeutic practices.
- SUPERVISION: Participate in weekly individual and group supervision as required. Supervision is provided in-house, though outside-agency supervision is accepted and would require close collaboration between supervisor and agency leadership.
