What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Afternoon Childcare Teacher position at The TreeHouse Growing and Learning Center?
We are looking to hire part-time assistant teachers to work various afternoon shifts, in classrooms ranging from infants-preschool. This is a great opportunity for high school and college students! We close at 6:00 each night and we are not open on the weekends! There is also the opportunity to pick up more hours as needed to sub and cover teacher breaks.
Hours we are looking to fill:
2:00-6:00
2:30-6:00
3:00-6:00
4:00-6:00
Applicants will need to have a strong passion for working with children, have strong communication skills, able to multi-task, willing to learn, be flexible and work in a team-driven environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Caring for children ranging in age 8 weeks- 5 -olds)
Changing diapers (infants-two-year-olds)
Assisting with potty needs (mostly 2-year-olds and 3-year-olds)
Sooth and nurture babies and children
Engage in age appropriate games, crafts, activities, etc.
Assisting in carrying out afternoon activities
Supervising children while outside (1-year olds-5 year olds)
Recording each child's day on an Ipad
Communicating with families about their child's day
Communicating with co-workers
Light cleaning at the end of the night. Following sanitation and disinfection procedures to ensure a clean and healthy building.
Qualifications
- Classroom management skills
- Experience in childcare and infant care is a plus,but not required.
- Strong communication skills
- Understanding of childhood development
- Willing to learn
