Position SummaryThe Director of Community Services will lead the development, coordination, and execution of The Grief Center’s community-based programming. This role oversees our school-based programming, community programs and Camp Erin-Tulsa programming. Building collaborations with schools and community organizations and developing a robust volunteer program are key functions of this role. This individual will work closely with schools, referral agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of grief support services, creating impactful, supportive experiences for those we serve.Key ResponsibilitiesSchool and Community-Based Programming (40%)
- Oversee and manage school-based and community-based grief support services, including outreach, scheduling, program planning, and evaluation.
- Develop and implement program goals, objectives, and strategies to meet the community's needs while aligning with The Grief Center’s mission and standards.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and program interns, providing them with the necessary tools, resources, and guidance to support program delivery effectively.
- Design and implement training programs that equip volunteers and program interns with grief support training, cultural sensitivity, and community engagement skills.
- Conduct regular assessments, feedback sessions, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality service delivery and volunteer satisfaction.
- Act as the primary liaison between The Grief Center and partnering organizations, fostering collaboration to support shared goals and expand reach.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of school-based and community-based services, collecting data and client feedback to drive program improvements.
Direct Services (30%)
- Facilitate school and community-based Healing Hearts Club grief groups to school-age children and youth.
- Facilitate community-based psycho-educational and/or support groups to adults, teens, children, and families.
Director of Camp Erin (20%)
- Lead the development, coordination, and execution of all aspects of Camp Erin.
- Works collaboratively with the Camp Clinical Director to ensure clinical support is available and accessible during the camp session.
- Coordinate camp logistics, including site selection, transportation, supplies, meals, and activity planning.
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers and counselors, ensuring all team members are equipped to support grieving children and teens.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of campers, staff, and volunteers.
- Ensure compliance with Eluna policy and procedures.
- Oversee camp budget, managing expenses and coordinating with the fundraising team on fundraising and grant requirements as needed.
Administrative Support Responsibilities (10%)
- As part of the leadership team at TGC, promote a supportive, collaborative atmosphere and act as a resource for staff and the board of directors.
- Works collaboratively with the ED to create grant and funding reports as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in program management community outreach, with a preference for experience in grief support or mental health services.
- Experience in recruiting and training volunteers is preferred
- Previous experience working with schools, youth organizations, or community-based programs is highly desirable.

- Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple programs, prioritize tasks, and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach, with a deep understanding of the grief process and the ability to effectively support individuals and families.
- Excellent communication skills, including connecting with diverse groups and cultivating relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in developing and facilitating trainings and presentations for volunteers, interns, and community partners.
