Ukrainian Museum Development Manager


The Ukrainian Museum seeks a part-time Development Manager to support aspects of its fundraising and grant research. Reporting to the Director, the Development Manager is an integral part of the Ukrainian Museum team. The Development Manager oversees the museum’s grants initiatives, completes special projects and provides administrative support. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, be a good problem solver and team player, be a fast learner and a strong writer, and will thrive in a high-intensity position.  



Responsibilities will include the following:  


  1. Grant-Writing 
  • Manage grant efforts from prospect research to writing proposals and reports, to collecting data, budgets, and all relevant documents from a variety of departments, to submission and completion of final reporting. 
  • Preparing grant narrative which are appropriate to the funding or governmental body, which are based on the mission of the group as well as operation on the city, state or national level  
  • Liaise between the departments of Exhibitions, Learning, and Finance in researching, preparing and completing grant applications 
  • Ensures all grant proposal and application deadlines are met by overseeing grant tracking report 
  • Develop a corporate sponsorship program and seek appropriate sponsors
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director


  1. Donor Relations 
  • Assist director with prospective and current donors along with members to cultivate positive and lasting relationships between the individual and the organization
  • Assist in implementing major gift programs and end-of-year appeal and design new campaigns to attract new donors and engage existing donors
  • With the director, manage annual and special fundraising events and auctions
  • Represent the organization within the community and throughout the state in conjunction with fundraising and good-will pursuits


Required:  

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Strong interpersonal skills  
  • Strong skills in both spoken and written communication  
  • Experience in research relevant to grant prospecting  
  • Experience with MS Office, particularly Excel 
  • Ukrainian language
  • 1-3 years of work experience in a non-profit organization or an museum context
