Your workday will be a mix of collaboration and independent work, with readily available support from peers and supervisors.

Position Summary

The CNC Machinist is responsible for producing high-quality machined parts according to customer specifications, following AS9100 quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) knowledge.
• Set up and operate 3, 4, and 5 axis mills and CNC vertical machining centers.
• Perform basic program edits, such as adjusting speeds and feeds, at the machine.
• Conduct in-process inspection using a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM).
• Make machine adjustments to meet part specifications.
• Develop and implement part fixturing solutions.
• Troubleshoot machining-related issues with a focus on quality.
• Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines.
• Investigate CAM system features for measurement and/or program optimization.
• Ensure all documentation is complete and accurate.
• Maintain familiarity with common CNC and programming terminology.
• Do basic part programming in Mastercam.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working with mills, lathes, or similar equipment (preferred).
• Competency with Fanuc controls, G & M codes, and hand program edits.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement concepts.
• Proficient in AS9100 quality standards.
• Ability to work independently with a high-level of productivity.
• High School diploma or GED (preferred).
• Knowledge of machining precision aluminum castings (a plus).
• Experience with CAM systems and tooling design (preferred).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent critical thinking skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of shop safety practices and procedures.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and equipment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs., with assistance for heavier items.
• Frequently twist, bend, and reach overhead to access equipment.
• Handle tools, parts, and equipment with precision using hands and fingers.
• Stand for prolonged periods; occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Work in environments with dirt, dust, fumes, steam, humidity, odors, loud noises, and vibration.
• Wear PPE such as safety glasses, ear protection, and gloves as needed to ensure safety.
• Able to navigate the manufacturing floor, climb stairs, and react quickly to changing conditions.

Compensation details: 30-40 Hourly Wage
