PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The Union for Contemporary Art's Visitors Service Coordinator is key to advancing the organization's mission of using the arts to inspire positive social change. As the first point of contact, the Visitor Services Coordinator embodies The Union's values of community, empowering artists, justice, accessibility, collaboration, and dialogue. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Visitor Relations _ 50 _ %
1. Be the warm and welcoming face of The Union, cultivating meaningful connections with visitors and the community to reflect the organization’s mission and values.
2. Orchestrate a seamless visitor experience during workshops, ensuring a supportive and engaging environment.
3. Collaborate with team members to nurture The Union garden, fostering community wellness through the development and distribution of fresh produce.
4. Create memorable moments by assisting with ticket sales, ushering patrons, and delivering heartfelt hospitality.
5. Preserve the beauty and functionality of The Union by maintaining a clean and inspiring environment.
6. Serve as an expert resource, answering questions and sharing insights that spark curiosity and connection.
7. Monitor visitor feedback to continuously enhance the experience and address any concerns effectively.
8. Facilitate introductions between visitors and programs, fostering deeper engagement with The Union’s offerings.
Administrative _ 30 _ %
9. Take charge of the daily cash flow by managing the drawer, ensuring accurate opening and closing procedures, and safeguarding financial transactions.
10. Monitor visitor lists for Co-op Studios to analyze flow and maximize engagement.
11. Provide meticulous documentation by logging passholders and visitors into their respective studios.
12. Act as a detail-driven champion by entering merchandise purchases and updating memberships in the Altrue system with precision.
13. Seamlessly track memberships by linking visitor profiles, ensuring a personalized experience.
14. Stay ahead of visitor needs by restocking Period Access supplies, ensuring no detail is overlooked in the service experience.
Membership Support _ 20 _ %
15. Lead enlightening tours of Co-op Studios, delivering engaging verbal overviews of the building and the benefits of membership.
16. Approach membership renewals with genuine care, helping visitors reconnect with their creative community in a non-sales manner.
17. Work behind the scenes to create unforgettable events by assisting with setup and cleanup.
18. Support hands-on creativity by distributing materials like clay at the front desk, ensuring smooth operations for Ceramics Co-op Studios.
19. Promote membership benefits by sharing updates, programs, and opportunities with new and existing members.
20. Build relationships with members by addressing their unique needs and encouraging ongoing participation.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Visitor Services Coordinator currently holds no supervisory responsibilities.
FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:
The Executive Director authorizes all expenditures of funds based on proper documentation, contract compliance, and The Union disbursement procedures.
EDUCATION
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as arts administration, communications, community development, education, or arts and culture, is preferred.
Equivalent experience in customer service, visitor relations, arts programming, or administrative roles may also be considered.
CERTIFICATIONS and LICENSES
Valid Driver’s License and proof of adequate liability insurance coverage for personal vehicle required.
