General Job Summary:
Under the direction of the CEO, the Compliance Officer is responsible for compliance and accreditation, and risk Management.
Major Job Responsibilities:
Compliance & Accreditation
? Serves as a point of contact for all regulatory entities
? Oversees procurement of operating contracts and MOUS, and serves as the main point of contact during audits and reviews; maintains contract “library”
? Maintains all agency licenses and certifications, as well as archives of previous versions
? Devises and implements quality outcome measures and methods of reporting
? Maintains agency “dashboard” by collecting information from the originating departments and updating the dashboard weekly.
? Tracks incident reports
? Implements quality assurance review process for programs and agency effectiveness
? Monitors and leads the evaluation of strategic priority progress
? Provides agency-wide support in the development of program goals, objectives and measures, and program evaluation
? Monitors Completion and Submission of Licensing Corrective Action Plans
? Prepares Quarterly report to the CEO, Board of Managers etc. that summarizes identified agency outcomes
? Prepares written and numeric reports and appendices for all reporting purposes, including grant applications, committee and board reports and narratives for accreditation purposes
? Works closely with all departments in establishing, updating and implementing MCH policy and procedures
? Attends any key community or state level provider meetings directly affecting the policies and procedures of MCH
? Conducts and analyzes staff/youth/other agency surveys as necessary
? Assists with grant administration
? Attend and utilize regularly scheduled in-service and specially scheduled training sessions (professional development)
? Acts as Registrar by collecting and submitting monthly reports to CPS, youth progress reports and all other required reports by the CPS specified deadline
? Works directly with the Mississippi Department of Mental Health (DMH) and the Mississippi Department of Child Protection Services (MDCPS) for all compliance and contracts
? Works directly with the Council on Accreditation (COA) by monitoring organizational standards and advising on organizational responses to any changes
? All other job duties as assigned
Risk Management
? Responsible for facility risk management and quality control by inspecting for and recommending removal of fire, safety and health hazards and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and industry codes
? Responsible for deploying all inclement weather and other hazardous threat bulletins to employees and management
? Advises on and monitor energy efficiency
? Conducts in-service training programs; ensures compliance with building code and safety requirements; maintains records and prepares reports; facilitates modernization and improvements to MCH
? Coordinates and communicates with CEO and organization’s insurance providers to obtain information about quotes, bids, renewals, Certificates of Insurance, etc.; maintains records of policies and obtain insurance certificates when needed
? Participates in programs and administrative activities of MCH
? Works with all staff to promote safety and quality client care
Requirements
Qualifications:
Knowledge & Experience
? Must be twenty-one (21) years of age
? Bachelor Degree and; 3-5 years of compliance, accreditation, or risk management experience
? External reporting experience
? Excellent organizational and time management skills
? Strong attention to detail and accuracy
? Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
? Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
? Professional demeanor and ability to interact with high-level executives and direct care givers
? Experience with Basecamp and any Blackbaud product is a plus
Skills/Working Conditions:
? Must maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
? Must be insurable by Methodist Children’s Homes insurance carrier
? Must successfully complete all phases of pre-service and on-going training, including but not limited to all CPS required training, First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, and Medication Administration
Other Requirements:
? Must provide a negative drug screen result prior to employment
? Must pass a pre-employment physical and TB test and on-going physical assessments as required
? Must be able to work across the campus in all weather conditions, and be physically capable of inspecting facilities as required for safety
? Have the ability to demonstrate organizational, management, and leadership skills
? Have the ability to generate multiple solutions to meet the changing needs of clients, staff, and communities
? Have the ability to participate in recreational activities with clients, including, but not limited arts, athletics, and outdoor activities.
? Regular attendance at primary worksite and agency related events
? Have the ability to work occasional overtime
