This is a salaried, full time position with a range of $46,800-$52,000.

Position Title:
Director of Music Ministries

Position Overview:
The Director of Music Ministries provides leadership and guidance for all musical programs at Prescott United Methodist Church (PUMC), fostering spiritual growth and community engagement through music.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music or music education.
- Proficiency in keyboard skills.
- Experience in choral music leadership.
- Strong ability to lead and collaborate with individuals and groups.

Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Oversight: Provide direction for all church music programs, including choirs, ensembles, and instrumental groups.
- Program Development: Direct, recruit, and train members of the Chancel Choir, Celebration Choir, Chancel Bell Choirs, Gospel Band, and other musical groups.
- Service Planning: Coordinate and oversee music for all worship services, including Saturday evening, Sunday morning, and special services such as Holy Week, Christmas Eve, and other significant occasions, in collaboration with the Senior Pastor (who selects hymns).
- Special Events: Organize and direct music for special events such as cantatas, concerts, and Easter Week services.
- Team Supervision: Supervise the accompanist, organist, paid section leaders, and other music staff, ensuring effective teamwork and professional development.
- Representation: Serve as the Music Ministry representative on church committees, including Church Council.
- Library & Equipment Management: Maintain the church’s music library and equipment, coordinating with technicians (e.g., piano tuners) as needed.
- Recruitment & Engagement: Actively recruit members for existing music programs and engage with the Prescott community to promote and participate in local musical initiatives.
- Support for Ceremonies: Assist the pastoral staff by recommending soloists, pianists, or other musicians for special services.
- Lead a 1 week Musical Theater Day Camp for children.
- Other Duties: Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Pastor.
