What are the responsibilities and job description for the Floorperson 3rd Shift position at The United States Playing Card Company?
Primary Purpose of Position:
Floor Person’s are responsible for coordinating materials needed for each work unit, packaging decks and monitoring the production line for potential problems or issues. A 204 is also responsible for transfer of materials into and out of the work cell.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Review with lead person work to be performed
2. Review the work orders to determine materials required for the daily production
3. Coordinate material requirements and ensure all necessary materials are available
4. Maintain a neat and orderly work area
5. Make minor adjustments to the machine in absence of an adjuster
6. Maintains the production board and production reports
7. Monitors personnel in the unit to ensure adequate numbers for production, schedules breaks and notifies the lead person or supervisor of any personnel issues
8. Assist or stand-in team members as needed
9. Prepares product for shipment by picking & packing orders via SAP transactions.
Basic Qualifications:
Knowledge
1. Minimum 1 to 3 years of work experience
2. High School diploma or equivalent work experience
3. Basic computer skills and able to work with SAP
4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
Skills
1. Self-directed and able to safely work at a pace that meets or exceeds the departmental standards
2. Able to read, understand and follow written instructions in English
3. Able to perform basic math functions
4. Team-oriented, has excellent attendance, and professional communication skills
5. Strong attention to detail
6. Can work flexible hours with minimal notice
7. Ability to operate an electric pallet jack on a regular basis. Powered industrial truck training will be a requirement, and successful completion of the Powered Industrial Truck testing will be required.
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
1. Must be able to wear ALL safety equipment including a safety shoes and hearing protection
2. Lift / push / pull up to 50 lbs
3. Standing and walking 90% of work time
4. Ability to work up to 12 hours a day
5. Ability to twist, reach, and bend
6. Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects
7. Ability to operate a powered industrial truck and motorized hand truck.
8. At least 20X40 corrected vision
9. Ability to pull up to 1,500 lbs. with a non-powered hand truck
