Digital Graphics / The Universal Group is looking to hire a Digital Press Operator.
This position requires the ability to operate and maintain our digital printing equipment as well as perform light bindery or finishing work produced from all presses.
Specific duties include:
General print production knowledge.
Operation and maintenance of digital printing equipment.
Knowledge of software used to manipulate files for print production as well as equipment software for operation. Must be able to utilize all tools installed on equipment to ensure the best print quality possible.
Color management. Ability to manage color library and adjust files for CMYK or Spot color printing.
Identify and resolve printing issues, performing routine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
Inspect printed materials for accuracy and color consistency to ensure the best quality possible.
Communicate with management, design staff, and coworkers to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Ability to follow instructions as well as communicate possible conflicting specifications before production. Ability to communicate production parameters of equipment to ensure unison between prepress, press and post press departments.
Operation and maintenance of bindery equipment.
Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of digital printing equipment and software.
Color Management Skills: Knowledge of color theory and color management systems.
Problem Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve printing issues quickly. Ability to catch inconsistencies in instructions provided.
Attention to detail: Keen eye for detail and proofing. Must have high quality standards.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Experience: 1 to 3 years’ previous experience in a print production environment.
Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures when operating and maintaining equipment. Ability to lift to 50lbs.
