- Assisting assistant Coaches in managing the team.
- Conducting practices.
- Providing instruction on strokes, starts, and turns.
- Encouraging/motivating each swimmer, regardless of ability.
- Head Coach in managing home and away meets; conferring with the Swim Team Parents Committee.
- Coordinating swim team activities with the Pool Manager.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
- Minimum of 1-year experience as a swim coach.
- Applicants must attend and complete the Red Cross International Pool and Lifeguard Training Program.
- This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a pre-employment background check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must be able to swim 100 yards using crawl or breaststroke without resting.
- Must be able to feet first surface dive and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a minimum depth of 8 ft. (or deepest depth of the facility) and bring it to the surface.
- Must be able to tread water without using arms for 1 minute.
- Must be able to safely exit pool without use of stairs, ladders, or zero depth.
- Ability to handle stressful working conditions, emergencies, and to accept a high degree of accountability.
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Must have normal vision (20/25 or 20/25 corrected).
- Prior lifeguarding experience is a plus, but not required.
- Must display a positive attitude and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts.
- Must have the ability to safeguard confidential information.
Job Demands:
- This is a seasonal position available for the summer season beginning in May.
- Must be available from Mid-May through Mid-July. Practices start in June 5:00 PM-7:00 PM in the evenings until school is out, then switch to 9:00 AM -12:00 PM when school is out. Swim meets are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 PM starting Mid-June through Mid-July.
