The University Club is a prestigious private club, located in a historic, landmark building in the heart of Manhattan, offering unparalleled services to members - from gracious dining, luxurious accommodations and a variety of social events, to extensive athletic facilities and the world’s largest and finest club library.
We are seeking a friendly and organized Host/Hostess to join our team. Mon – Fri 4pm – 9pm. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and creating a positive fine dining experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a warm welcome and seat them in a timely manner
- Manage reservations and walk-in guests efficiently
- Provide menus and relay any specials or promotions to guests
- Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the dining area
- Answer phone calls and take reservations and manage waiting list with professionalism
- Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
Qualifications
- Prior experience in hospitality, food service, or customer service is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Knowledge of restaurant or hotel guest services is a plus

Salary range: $20 - $25 per hour (depending on experience)
