Job Summary: The Continuing Student Temporary Assistant is for recent UA graduates or students temporarily ineligible for student employment (due to enrolment, etc.) who are continuing the work of their student role at the University for a short-term assignment (less than one year). Performs various duties with some variety and complexity for a college or department in support of a program, project, event or other sponsored activity.
Additional Department Summary: Assists in grading and proctoring for GES 554: Partial Differential Equations. Duties include grading ten (10) homework assignments throughout the semester and entering the grades into the gradebook in BlackboardLearn, attending Zoom office hours fourteen (14) times throughout the semester (including providing feedback to students on their work) and responding to student questions as appropriate, assisting with proctoring three hour-long tests and a single 2-hour final exam, and assisting with student questions and emails throughout the semester.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with experience working in BlackboardLearn.
Skills and Knowledge: Familiarity with the instructor interface in BlackboardLearn and expertise in partial differential equations.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in BlackboardLearn and grading student work in partial differential equations.
