Normal Work Schedule: 6:30pm to 9:30pm; Varies
Job Summary: The Tutor provides assistance in subjects as needed.
Additional Department Summary: Tutors and/or teaches course content. Guides students in meeting academic deadlines. Assists in the development of general study, planning, and time-management skills. Reviews, discusses, and explains course material in a clear, effective, and creative manner. Conducts test review sessions.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree and expertise in subject to be tutored; OR a native speaker in foreign language.
Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must be available a minimum of two nights weekly from 6:30pm to 9:30pm.
Skills and Knowledge: Good interpersonal and communication skills. Sufficient academic knowledge of college undergraduate courses in one or more areas (business, computer science, engineering, English, foreign language, humanities, social science, math, natural science, etc.). Ability to assist students from a variety of backgrounds and experiences, including entering freshmen, continuing, and international students.
Preferred Qualifications: Advance degree. Experience as a school teacher or counselor, college instructor, and/ or graduate teaching assistant (GTA).
