GENERAL SUMMARY: Research Professionals work with faculty to collect data, conduct statistical analysis, and provide other support associated with faculty research.


PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Collects data, conducts complex statistical analysis, writes statistical software programs, and organizes the presentation of results.
  2. Creates charts, tables, and descriptive text for presentations.
  3. Maintains databases, reviews background materials, and performs preliminary research.
  4. Contribute to the design and implementation of an efficient and reproducible data processing pipeline.
  5. Build and rigorously evaluate statistical models using best practices of machine learning and statistical inference.
  6. Prepare project memos, summaries, presentations, reports, and other work products for dissemination to academic researchers, policymakers, and other stakeholders, as needed.
  7. Other duties as requested.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Bachelor's degree or higher in a field relevant to the research being conducted by the start date required.
  2. Strong initiative and a resourceful approach to problem-solving and learning required.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment required.
  4. Sound critical thinking skills required.
  5. Strong attention to detail with superb analytical and organization skills required.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data in a simple and straightforward way for non-technical audiences required.
  7. Proficiency in the latest computational tools required.
