About the Department
Biomedical Data Science; the unit conducts laboratory studies, mainly working with de-identified medical records to interrogate etiology of complex disease.

Job Summary
The Research Assistant will provide assistance for claims/electronic medical records harmonization, programming, data analysis, running models for data analysis. The applicant would ideally have training in a clinical practice, such as nursing in the setting of an ICU.
Responsibilities
  • Curation of medical records.
  • Implementation of computational workflows.
  • Attending and documenting conference call with collaborators across the globe.
  • Following up on research tasks.
  • Documenting workflows and intermediate results.
  • Writing draft for research papers.
  • This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
  • Collects and enters data. Assists in analysis of data and with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Performs other related work as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).

Work Experience:
Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

  • Bachelor's degree.

Experience:
  • Knowledge of real medical practices.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Knowledge of clinical diagnosis and billing practices.
  • Knowledge of at least one programming language and demonstrated skills in learning new data science-related techniques.
Preferred Competencies
  • Writing skills.
