Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
This incumbent will assist in the Central Supply Unit of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital to provide medical/surgical supplies to clinical staff for surgeries and procedures that occur on a daily basis.

- Experience with, and knowledge of, medical/surgical equipment
- Work experience in a fast paced hospital environment involving the use of cleaning systems for the purpose of disinfecting surgical tools to prevent infectious disease.

- Multitask, be flexible, and establish priorities quickly.
- Work under stressful situations.
- Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Sit, stand, stoop, bend and walk intermittently during the day on hard floor surfaces.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to accurately work with small, delicate pieces of equipment or large heavy objects/containers/machinery.
- Wear proper protective equipment.
- Contact with animal bodily fluids.
- Work some weekends and holidays.
- Driving as needed to perform job duties.

- Clean surgical instruments and endoscopy instrumentation that came into contact with animal bodily fluids.
- Pack, check, and sterilize surgical instruments, endoscopy instrumentation, and various dry goods with the use of specific lists and directions.
- Enter charges in VetView.
- Put up stock, create stock requests, collect medical waste, and box for disposal.
- Change clipper blades daily and clippers weekly throughout the hospital.
- Assist in taking incremental inventory of medical instruments
- Fill requests from doctors, students, and staff for materials, instruments, and dry goods.
- Fill orders and deliver to appropriate areas. Enter charges into database system, VetView.
