Position Summary

The School of Social Work invites applications for the position of Academic Professional to serve in a practicum education coordinator capacity in our Practicum Education office. This academic professional faculty position will include recruitment and evaluation of appropriate practicum education learning sites; placement of students in practicum sites; practicum education liaising; administrative management of practicum education protocols; and teaching multiple practicum education and practice courses. Extensive travel to practicum education sites in Athens, metropolitan Atlanta, and Northeast Georgia is required.

Additional Requirements

A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate social work practice and/or administrative experience working directly with students in higher education. Must have knowledge of Practicum Education.

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, And/or Certification

An established track record in teaching, administration, social work practice, student supervision, and a working knowledge of the Council on Social Work Education 2015 Educational Policies and Accreditation Standards are desirable.

Social work license preferred.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And/or Competencies

Linkages, knowledge, and/or an established track record in the professional social service community of metro Atlanta and in the Athens area are also strongly desired.
