Position Summary
This position provides expertise on postsecondary disability service provision via consultation, presentations, and committee membership; promotes and maintains contact between designated University System of Georgia (USG) colleges and universities (i.e., referring institutions) and the UGA Regents Center for Learning Disorders (RCLD); and serves on the RCLD management team to ensure the smooth running of the center. This position acts as consultant to USG disability service providers on matters of disability law and higher education accommodations; directs the outside review consultation service provided to USG disability services offices; engages in community outreach, training, and education at the local, state, and national levels; and provides transition consultations for high school students with disabilities. Additionally, this position will facilitate the referral process for RCLD evaluations and serve as a member of the RCLD management team.

Direct the outside review consultation service provided to USG disability services offices. Activities include overseeing the documentation submission, storage, and response processes, managing the database storing the determinations made by the outside review team, serving as a review team member, and drafting and sending response letters.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Act as consultant to USG disability service providers on matters of disability law and higher education accommodations. Activities include promoting and maintaining contact between the RCLD and referring institutions, consulting on accommodation determination cases, consulting on the development of policies and procedures, providing guidance on disability matters, managing a regional listserv, hosting two regional meetings per year, and planning and hosting an annual statewide conference for USG disability service providers (along with the Liaisons from other two USG Centers).
Percentage of time 35 Duties/Responsibilities
Serve as a member of management team- Activities include participating on the management team, developing and implementing policies and procedures, handling unexpected difficulties, acting in the director's stead when requested, maintaining the efficient and effective functioning of the center, and serving as a member of the USG Regents' Administrative Committee on Learning Disorders and an ad hoc member of the USG Regent's Administrative Committee on Accessibility and Disability Services
Percentage of time 10 Duties/Responsibilities
Engage in community outreach and education- Activities include giving educational presentations to parent and school groups, participating in relevant educational events, providing workshops to support referring institutions, serving on task forces and transition councils to support K-12 goals for students with disabilities, and serving on professional committees (e.g., research, services and accommodations, educational policy development, etc.) as assigned.
Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities
Provide transition consultations- Activities include promoting and providing a consultation service to prepare students with disabilities and their parents for a successful transition from high school to postsecondary education.
Percentage of time 5 Duties/Responsibilities
Facilitate the referral process for RCLD evaluations- Activities include responding to inquiries from students, parents, and disability service professionals in the RCLD service area and assisting in the determination of student eligibility for an RCLD evaluation.
