University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking a 100% Clinical Technician I to work for the Operating Room at our new North Liberty Campus!
Basic Function and Responsibility:
- Under direct supervision, operates and maintains specialized equipment for use in tests and studies related to patient treatment and staff teaching.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities – Clinical Practice:
- Prepares area and materials for patient testing, requiring knowledge of medical equipment and its proper usage.
- Performs routine technical measurements using specialized medical equipment to determine changing conditions of a patient.
- Records and maintains information obtained during equipment tests to facilitate interpretation of the data and meet established equipment review guidelines/protocols.
- Distributes information to appropriate areas and personnel.
- Performs routine maintenance of equipment to ensure operational condition at all times.
- Assists in training new personnel to operate and maintain equipment.
- Assembles emergency trays and accessory equipment.
- Escorts patients to examination rooms.
- Assists higher-level staff in performance of their duties as assigned.
- Please note - Prior to the Medical Center North Liberty opening, candidates will be expected to begin orientation at our Medical Center University Campus in Iowa City.
Percent of time: 100%
Hourly: $17.51
Location: Medical Center North Liberty
Hours: Primarily days M-F between the hours of 07-1730. Weekends, holiday and call per unit needs.

The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty Campus will open in the Spring of 2025. Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- One year of health care experience involving direct patient care.
