The University of Iowa Department of Athletics seeks applications for a Director of Scouting – Men’s Basketball. This is a full-time (at-will and FLSA-exempt) position which includes full University benefits. The University of Iowa is an NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Big Ten Conference. Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Head Men’s Basketball Coach, the Director of Scouting will assist the coaching staff in scouting for upcoming opponents, provide individual scout clips for the roster, and analyze potential student-athletes while supporting recruiting efforts. This position will be required to work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours as needed.

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) or equivalent combination of education and experience is required;
- One year experience with scouting and/or administrative support duties for a collegiate men’s basketball program;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and ability to build trusting relationships;
- Working knowledge of and ability to:
- Utilize basic office support software (word processing, email, presentation software and spreadsheets)
- Operate effectively within a highly regulated team environment;
- A valid U.S. driving license and the ability to meet and maintain University of Iowa Driving Policy standards.

- Basic knowledge and understanding of the professionalism and intensity necessary to successfully contribute to a Division I athletics program.
- Genuine passion for and experience with supporting the holistic development of student-athletes, recognizing the interconnectedness of mental health and overall well-being.
