Responsibilities
- Responsible for scheduling patient appointments from phone requests.
- Works with physician offices, patients, Health Center departments and all others in completing the scheduling function, including patient demographic information and insurance eligibility verification.
- Assures that proper patient records and film studies are available prior to the patients' appointments.
- Reminds patients of appointments and to bring prior records as appropriate.
- Contributes to efficiently of provider schedules by filling cancellations and rescheduling appointments when requested.
- Works under the supervision of the Clinic Supervisor/Manager.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- One year prior experience in medical office setting.
- Must type 40 wpm; proficient computer skills.
- Must have knowledge of HIPAA rules.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in physician clinic phone scheduling preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
