The Director of ICU is a clinically experienced registered professional nurse, who is responsible and accountable for delegating and coordinating the nursing care provided by assigned unit(s). Supports, facilitates, and directs unit staff members in the delivery of high quality, efficient nursing care.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of ICU is a clinically experienced registered professional nurse, who is responsible and accountable for delegating and coordinating the nursing care provided by assigned unit(s). Supports, facilitates, and directs unit staff members in the delivery of high quality, efficient nursing care.
- Demonstrate ability to Maintain and adjust schedule to provide coverage for all shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Ongoing performance improvement with Core Measures.
- Work with education department to assist with staff educational needs. Provide ongoing education to staff with unit specific education.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate with all members of the interdisciplinary team clearly and effectively, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Promotes teamwork and maintains effective working relationships within the department, between departments, and outside the hospital.
- Participate in mandatory meetings.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy practices in accordance with HIPAA and completes annual competency and safety training as assigned.
- Demonstrate ability to understand budget and PMR while maintaining a cost-conscious attitude to time usage, materials, and supplies.
- Demonstrate ability to increase Patient Satisfaction scores per Healthstream reporting.
- Manage department payroll.
- Document employee relations issues as necessary and complete disciplinary action as needed per policy working in conjunction with HR.
- Demonstrate continued improvement and effort in department while increasing employee engagement.
- Demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed Meaningful Use 2 measures.
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school
- BSN
- Current certification in CPR-BLS and ACLS
- Must possess a current Kansas License as a Registered Nurse.
- Experience in a leadership role
