The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at The University of Kansas Health System in Kansas City, Kansas, is seeking a dedicated adult inpatient psychiatrist to join our team providing direct patient care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes in an inpatient setting at the Strawberry Hill Campus.
The weekday role involves providing a comprehensive range of therapeutic services, such as diagnostic assessments, medication management, crisis intervention, and overall care for adult inpatients with psychiatric disorders. Additional responsibilities may include supervising and mentoring psychiatry residents, psychology trainees, and medical students through didactic lectures and clinical training. The role also requires participation in clinical call coverage (2-3 weeknights per month), weekend call coverage (every 4-6 weeks), continuous quality improvement efforts, and active involvement in Medical School and Department committees. If desired, could also provide some afternoon outpatient clinic appointments.
Required Qualifications :
- MD, DO or equivalent degree
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Adult Psychiatry Residency program
- ABPN board certification / board eligibility in Psychiatry
- Eligible for medical licensure in Kansas and Missouri
