Position Overview
The Business Professional Development Program Ambassador program is hiring for March 2025- March 2026. Selected students attend a variety of professional development training and serve as a source of student feedback for the Business Professional Development Program while representing us throughout the academic year.
Our ambassador program highlights community leadership and professional growth. Ambassadors receive a deepened knowledge of the career resources available to B-School students. Ambassadors are expected to represent and communicate programming, services, and opportunities throughout their time in the role in a variety of ways. Projects are varied and tailored to each student’s interests – there are four required hourly training courses for the entire year. Students will be required to help with five projects per semester. The projects range in timeframe, title, and emphasis, and are varied to encourage students to select opportunities that are of most interest to them.
Throughout their employment, student employees will maintain and manifest positive actions that align with and support the Code of Conduct for the School of Business.
Job Description
Participation will involve, but is not limited to:
40% Promote Business Professional Development Program & career resources to fellow students.
10% Provide student perspective on which employers or jobs fields are of interest to campus.
10% Attend training on professional topics like interviewing, job and internship searches, professional negotiation, etc.
10% Collaborate on special projects relevant to student interests and faculty/program needs.
10% Assist in the selection process for full-time hiring needs.

Job Description
Participation will involve, but is not limited to:

- Class flybys, tabling, club presentations, webinar attendance, modeling professionalism, helping event logistics, student panels etc.
10% Provide student perspective on which employers or jobs fields are of interest to campus.
10% Attend training on professional topics like interviewing, job and internship searches, professional negotiation, etc.
10% Collaborate on special projects relevant to student interests and faculty/program needs.
- Data projects, curriculum edits, feedback and review of tools or materials, etc.
10% Assist in the selection process for full-time hiring needs.
Required Qualifications
- A KU student pursuing a major or minor in the School of Business.
- Ability to commit for one academic year to the position.
- Able to attend and complete at least 1 training session per semester (1.5-2.5 hours of commitment)
- Must be available for the SPRING 2025 training on APRIL 11.
- Able to accept and attend at least five projects/events in the above participation opportunities (varied time commitments and platforms).
- During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must:
- have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or
- be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or
- be enrolled in summer session or
- be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be for undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
- Seeking at least one undergraduate representative from each of the academic majors.
- Seeking representation from a member of MSP - Business.
- Seeking representation from a transfer student.
- Strong desire to cultivate professionalism in oneself and the B-School community.
