This is a grant funded position with continuation dependent on funding availability.
The Gambling Clinic is particularly interested in individuals who are or are working towards becoming a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist in the state of Tennessee.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May need to work/travel beyond normal work schedule.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Functions as a trusted confidant, role model, and mentor to assign The Gambling Clinic clients with the objective of supporting treatment engagement and treatment adherence. This will involve weekly contact with individuals beginning at the clients first contact through end of treatment. Includes maintaining availability during working hours to provide support and assistance. Works with an interdisciplinary team that includes student clinicians to develop, support, and follow up on clients’ individualized treatment plans. Assists in the facilitation of ongoing aftercare support and monitoring of relapse prevention. Promotes client autonomy and assists clients in seeking achievable goals for self-management in conjunction with and as a compliment to treatment-specific goals the client and their therapist set.

Teaches responsible gambling strategies, assists with self-exclusion process, helps clients develop essential living skills such as organization, time management, and increase financial literacy and financial planning.

Maintains availability during working hours to provide telephone assistance and support, handling urgent calls and triaging emergency calls as needed.
Helps develop and expand recovery support services and lack of gambling-specific treatment options in the local community by identifying gaps in service, developing client-centered educational resources and website content, and assisting in outreach efforts.

Assists with community education and gambling-prevention efforts including but not limited to community talks, trainings, and supporting screening for gambling-related harm.
