Special Conditions
The department is especially interested in candidates who have experience operating single crystal x-ray diffraction instrumentation and analyzing the diffraction data to determine crystal structure.
Work Schedule
Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
May require work and/or travel beyond normal business hours.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to handle or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stand; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
Additional Working Conditions
May need to lift 50lbs or more at times.

Job Duties
Duties & Responsibilities
Running single crystal x-ray diffraction (SC-XRD) analyses on both organic and inorganic materials; determine the crystal structures of small molecules; point of contact for the X-ray Crystallographic Lab for all internal and external users
Duties & Responsibilities
Performing research and development experiments for projects and products in collaboration with both internal and external contract analysis and operation of laboratory instrumentation.
Duties & Responsibilities
Train users in standard operating procedures of SC-XRD; assistant users in journal publications and conference presentations of crystallographic results; ensure timely completion and accurate analysis of samples; organize workshops on XRD for training and recruitment of new users (internal and external).
Duties & Responsibilities
May be required to teach one course per semester at the discretion of the Chair of the Chemistry Department.

Other duties as assigned by the Chair of the Chemistry Department.
