JOB SUMMARY :
The Director of the Children's Hearing Program (CHP) provides leadership, guidance, and management of the day-to-day clinical and administrative operations of the CHP. This position is integral to the development of the program, its service line goals, education, programming, and quality initiatives. The CHP is a unique, interdisciplinary program for children with hearing loss and their families. The CHP provides evaluation and management to children locally, nationally, and internationally. The Children's Hearing Program includes audiology, speech language pathology / auditory verbal therapy, psychology, social work, deaf education, music therapy, administrative staff, and a pediatric support specialist. The Director of CHP develops innovative strategies to serve children with hearing loss, implements short and long-term initiatives, tracks the program's progress, identifies potential and cultivates current program donors, and manages the finances and budget. The Director of the CHP provides direct oversight to the Director of Family Support Services and works collaboratively with this position to carry out the program's mission and vision.
A record of scientific publications, involvement in relevant professional societies, and leadership experience in clinical, educational and advocacy endeavors related to pediatric hearing loss is preferred. The candidate should have National or International recognition in the field. The Director of CHP should be an accomplished clinician-administrator or clinician-investigator-administrator who would fulfill criteria for appointment at the level of Associate or Full Professor in the Clinician Educator Line. The position entails a combination of clinical practice, clinical research, education, and program administration depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The position will consist of 80% clinical activity and 20% administrative effort.
REQUIREMENTS :
- AuD or PhD in Audiology required.
- Minimum of 10 years of pediatric experience preferred.
