Job Summary:
Responsible for planning, organizing, and providing various assignments to enhance the patient experience including but not limited to: setting up the exam rooms, rooming patients, prepping patients for audio logical tests, managing hearing aids as allowed by state law, managing new hearing aid orders and repairs.
Education & Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of courses in Audiologic Testing and amplification preferred.

Excellent interpersonal skills that allow effective working relationships with a diverse customer, colleague, and vendor population. This includes listening, sales, and problem solving skills. Strong keyboard/computer skills, time management skills, and ability to prioritize numerous duties within strict deadlines. Ability to deal with numerous interruptions. Must be detailed oriented. Ability to remain patient centered, caring and respectful at all times.
Responsibilities
- Turn on the equipment and computers upon arrival and turning off equipment and computers at the end of the day; manages all hearing aid company software, cords and boots/flex strips.
- Verifies equipment and supplies are available in each room; cleans rooms between patients, including cleaning audiologic equipment; rooms patients according to procedure.
- Performs daily biological calibration checks; performs Otoscopic Inspection. Performs pure-tone air-condition threshold testing.
- Conducts Pure-Tone and Immittance Screening on children and adults; assists the Audiologist with VRA, play audiometry & Immittance Testing.
- Send out hearing aid orders; track orders to ensure that they arrive in a timely manner for the hearing aid fitting; check the hearing aids when they arrive, which include programming hearing aids as necessary; send out hearing aid repairs when necessary; contact patients for hearing aid related matters, e.g. pick up repairs, schedule appointments, etc.
- As allowed by state law, perform routine cleaning or repairing of hearing aids, which may include replacing earmold tubing, clean receivers and microphones of all hearing aids, and cleans corrosion on battery contacts.
- Performs electroacoustic analysis of hearing aids; performs hearing aid orientation, including basic care and use of the hearing aid (insertion, removal, adjusting volume, etc.; makes impressions for earmolds/hearing aid shells; modifies earmolds/shells.
- Demonstrates and sells assistive listening devices (ALD's), batteries, and other special products.
- Completes basic paperwork such as repair forms, purchase agreements, and warranty information; maintains inventory of clinical supplies; maintain hearing aid supplies and orders as needed; performs front office/desk duties as needed.
- Assists customers with exchanges or returns; provides excellent customer service and maintains good public relations; follows safety and infection control protocols; exercises confidentiality relating to patient and business information.
