Job Summary:
Performs intermediate and advanced statistical analysis and programming for laboratory, clinical and population research projects, with guidance and support. Assists lead statisticians in their work on research projects and can coordinate statistical needs of projects independently.
Education & Experience
Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or directly related field plus four (4) years of related experience or a PHD In Statistics, Biostatistics, or directly related field to include three (3) years of experience using data analysis platforms such as stata, sas, and/or r. No other equivalents.

Experimental or study design, multiple regression, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, logistic regression, categorical data analysis, clinical trials methodology, Bayesian methods.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities
- With minimal or no guidance, prepares statistical analysis plans. Uses statistical and medical understanding to propose and perform additional analyses appropriately and independently. Learns new statistical methods and applies new skills to future projects.
- Designs analysis data set specifications. Writes statistical analysis code, finding and correcting errors and validating output and results. Programs analysis datasets; combines multiple disparate raw databases and derives analysis variables accurately. Uses complicated statistical software procedures, options and programs with increasing efficiency.
- With minimal guidance, calculates samples sizes, power calculations, and interim stopping guidelines, with guidance. Provides review and approval of data collection tools, data correction criteria and procedures, identification of critical data fields, and endpoint collection documents.
- Collaborates effectively with less experienced team members. Identifies potential data problems from analytic queries and brings them to the attention of the team. Demonstrates understanding of project data collection processes and data sets and shares knowledge with collaborators.
- Participates in most statistical aspects of a projects, with consultation or assistance when needed. Represents the functional group in project team meetings and contributes constructively to project discussions. Understands the contracted scope of work and forecasts monthly hours expected to complete each project. Creates timelines for statistical project management, with assistance from project leader and statistical managers.
- Drafts statistical sections for study synopses and protocols, with minimal guidance of senior or faculty statistician. Provides input regarding data collection tools and data correction criteria and procedures.
- Collaborates effectively with a variety of types of individuals: other statisticians, medical personnel, and representatives within the business community. Develops leadership and communication skills and shares them with others.
- Manages project responsibilities with decreasing levels of supervision or regular support and takes initiative to complete project-specific responsibilities with minimal supervision. Demonstrates progress in ability to multi-task.
- Assists with teaching courses and developing course materials as requested by center faculty.
