Education & Experience
MD plus Master's degree with no experience or, MD or PhD and two (2) years of related experience

Knowledge of scientific approach and methodologies. Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in area of expertise. Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols. Responsibilities
- Designs and implements research protocols and projects; advanced analytical techniques and the modification and extension of theories and practices in innovative research projects in field or specialty; develops statistical and observational models.
- Designs, performs, and/or oversees experiments and data collection to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance. Collects, analyzes, and interprets data. Prepares statistical and narrative reports.
- Provides recommendations which serve as the basis for decision making in a specialty area. Works with users and principal investigators on design, analysis, applications, and reporting of research projects; teaches and advises on techniques.
- Collaborates in the management and/or oversees a research laboratory. Provides technical leadership and consultation to staff and graduate students. Maintains currency of knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology equipment.
- Collaborates in the preparation of grant proposals to obtain funding in support of research activities.
- Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment; promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
