Job Summary:
To supervise subordinate staff and areas involved in the receipt verification, storage, and control of medical, surgical, and other supplies and equipment used in the care and treatment of patients or in related medical center operations.
Education & Experience
Associate's degree in business, operations management, or related field and two (2) years of related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of materials management. Skill in the use of personal computers and related software applications. Verbal and written communication skills. Interpersonal skills. Ability to multi-task. Ability to perform basic supervisory functions.
Oversees and provides supervision of the daily operational activities associated with at least one of the following functional areas of the hospital supply chain including: supply distribution and replenishment, receiving and delivery, mail services and post office, warehouse inventory management, and the coordinated supply support system.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinates the work activities of subordinate staff.
- Receives, verifies receipt, stores, and distributes equipment and supplies.
- Assists in providing training and coaching of subordinate staff
- Monitors and audits inventory
- assists in determining stock requirements
- prepares and/or supervises the preparation of supply orders.
- Interfaces with accounting staff to resolve invoice issues.
- Maintains applicable files, records, and databases.
- Maintains area of responsibility in compliance with the requirements of the joint commission and other regulatory agencies.
- Promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
