Department Summary
The Inn at Ole Miss is a 146 room facility that is located on the campus on the University of Mississippi. We are currently seeking a guest service agent to handle guest check in / outs, manage reservations, assist guests, handle billing issues. It is important that the candidate have strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Also, be able to assist with other duties as dictated by management that relate to the Front Desk.

Role Summary
Responsible for greeting guests in an efficient and courteous manner. Serves as first point of contact for the guests and checks them in and out of their rooms, distributes room keys, answers questions and processes payments for hotel services.
A Guest Service Agent (GSA) for The Inn at Ole Miss must be a professional who is responsible for greeting guests in an efficient and courteous manner. As the first face that many see upon arrival, the GSA must be accommodating and provide various information.
Examples of Work Performed
The guest service agent will work daily from a checklist where they would provide the following services and functions for the hotel. Upon arrival on your shift, you will need to confirm with the previous shift as to any information you will need. You will need to verify the cash drawer, print daily reports, check hotel email and respond throughout the day. If needed you will prepare a cash bag for the bursars office. Based on the shift you are on, you will need to make key packets for guests that will be arriving the following day. Check the in house guest bucket assuring that all paperwork matches what is in the system. During certain times of the year, it is important that the pool is open and closed, again, this will be based on your shift. Log all lost and found items and store them in the security closet. Throughout the shift you will maintain a clean area by wiping down the front desk and back area, sweeping the floors and taking the trash out so that the next shift coming on, will have a clean area to begin their shift. At the end of each shift you will need to send an email to all management informing them of any issues that occurred during your shift. You will mainly work with Opera (the software system that is utilized).
Essential Functions

1. Interacts with the customers to ensure guest check-in, check-out, and billing are carried out efficiently.
2. Answers questions about the facility's policies and services.
3. Makes advance reservations and handles special requests.
4. Issues invoices and collects room fees.
5. Handles or appropriately escalates customer service issues.
6. Performs administrative duties such as answering phones, cleaning work space, and assisting managers and supervisors as needed

Salary : $29,120 - $36,400
