Position Summary
The Department of Emergency Medicine’s Accounting Office is looking to hirea student Accounting Assistant who can provide at least 10-15 hours a week. Thisindividual will assist and / or participate in a wide variety of activities,including updating, and maintaining files, updating reports and journalentries. Additionally, they may be required to assist in updating templates,sending emails, following up on requests sent by the accounting team, and otherduties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized and able to work independently with limited supervision
Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word and Excel
Records maintenance skills
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Reconciliation of budgets / accounts
Knowledge of basic accounting functions
Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information
Ability to create and edit written materials
Ability to analyze and solve problems
Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
