Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

The Department Of Chemistry And Chemical Biology Is Seeking a Reliable And Personable Administrative Professional To Join The Team As a Chemistry Office Coordinator (Coord., Academics). This Position Supports Department Administrator And The Daily Administrative Needs Of The Department Including
- Serves as a principal liaison between students and/or faculty, staff, other departments, and/or external constituencies on day-to-day programmatic, operational, and administrative issues. Resolves administrative problems, as appropriate, and/or refers problems to key faculty or staff for resolution.
- Monitors, reconciles, and assists with fiscal administration for the unit, including but not limited to timekeeping and payroll, undergraduate employment, seminar and faculty travel, inventory, reimbursements, and/or purchasing.
- Collects and analyzes data; prepares scheduled and special reports and statistical information; maintains records and documentation, tracks student progress through the program for completion of requirements; coordinates information required for program operations.
- Coordinates and/or facilitates seminars, meetings, special projects, departmental events, faculty/staff searches, and evaluates the success of these events.
- Performs or delegates clerical and administrative support tasks, including creating and editing correspondence, academic course scheduling and/or catalog edits, web pages including departmental social media presence, purchasing documents, reports, program handbooks, and other related publications.
- May coordinate the activities of support staff, consultants, faculty, and/or volunteers engaged in implementation and administration of unit objectives.
- Supervise and train student office employees, volunteers, and/or interns, as appropriate
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

- Work experience at UNM
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
- Knowledge of university accounting procedures involving procurement, travel, contract and grant processes, and/or employment.
- Knowledge of event planning and scheduling techniques.
- Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive confidential issues
