Duties

The Division of Nephrology, within the Department of Internal Medicine, is seeking Medical Education Program Coordinator to plan and coordinate the day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the Nephrology Fellowship Program. This highly motivated and detail-oriented person works closely with and serves as administrative support to the Fellowship Program Director, Associate Fellowship Program Directors, Fellows, and GME. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Supervising the production/distribution of annual and monthly call schedules and conference schedules
  • Organizing new fellow and returning fellow orientation Organizing didactic training including, but not limited to: Noon Conference, Journal Club, and Board Review Oversees solicitation and assessment of evaluations of fellows, faculty, and rotations as they relate to fellow training
  • Responsible for day-to-day fellowship program administrative functions including, but not limited to: completion of verification forms, vacation/sick leave, In-training exams, New Innovations, etc.
  • Responsible for the Fellow selection process by screening fellow applications in eRAS and reviewing for compliance, coordinating interviews for prospective candidates, preparation of rank list with direct submission to the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP)
  • Working with the Program and Associate Program Directors, develop plans for resolution of various confidential fellow issues
  • Serve as a liaison to GME

Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 5 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with New Innovations, or similar programs
  • Experience with Fellowship Program platforms
  • Experience in an Academic setting
  • Experience with Banner Finance Systems
  • Knowledge of HIPAA policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and budget planning
  • Knowledge of UNM Policy and Procedures
