The University of New Mexico-Gallup invites applications for a full-timeLecturer (Open Rank) in Film & Digital Media Arts to begin in August 2025.We are one of four branch community colleges of the University of New Mexicoand serve approximately 2200 students. Located in Gallup NM, approximately 138miles west of Albuquerque, UNM-Gallup is situated in the Four Corners regionand near the Navajo Nation, Zuni Pueblo, and Hopi Reservation. The city ofGallup has a population of 22,000 and the surrounding areas provide anabundance of outdoor recreational activities, various museums and extraordinarycultural vibrancy, while maintaining a small-town feel.
UNM-Gallup serves a hugely diverse student population with 100 fulltime and part-time faculty members. We are fully accredited by the HigherLearning Commission offering Associate degrees, selected Bachelor’s degrees,Career Technical Education certificate programs, and adult basic education(ABE / GED), workforce training and personal enrichment courses. UNM-Gallupserves multiple high school populations including McKinley Academy, MiddleCollege High School, and the Center for Career and Technical Education.

The successful candidate will be expected toteach 27 credits per academic year – primarily to dual / concurrently enrolledhigh school students – in the areas of Film Studies and Digital Media (fivecourses in the fall semester and four courses in the spring semester, orequivalent), maintain an active scholarship / service record (as defined by theUA-UNM CBA), participate in monthly Division meetings, and execute otherrelevant duties as agreed upon in conjunction with the division chair in anannual faculty-chair agreement. In addition, the selected candidate will be expected to demonstrate acommitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through actively practicinginclusive behavior and proactively managing bias
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master’s degree in Film Studies, Media Studies, Digital Media, or a related field from an accredited institution, or a combination of at least 18 graduate credit hours in Film Studies, Media Studies, Digital Media or a related field and related industry experience
