Job Overview :

FUSION is hiring an experienced WebsiteDesigner to execute website maintenance and redesign for this vibrant center ofarts and culture and create amazing user experiences. The ideal candidate forthis position should have an eye for clean and artful web design and is highlyorganized, self-motivated, and skilled at working in a dynamic environment. Candidateneeds to be well versed in web-based platforms such as Squarespace and Webflow.Must be a talented self-starter. Must have a strong eye for design and theability to create written and visual layouts in collaboration with theExecutive Director and Communications Director. This position executes websitemaintenance, design, and development under the guidance of supervisors. RegularZoom meetings will be required.

FUSION, home to the FUSION Theatre Company, isa center for arts and culture in Downtown Albuquerque. Our multi-venue, 35,000square foot campus hosts live music, dance, comedy, theater, and a myriad of specialevents. With three stages and both indoor and outdoor event spaces, FUSION is NewMexico’s home for creative and cultural exploration. Our Website Designer willhelp streamline our online presence and the reach of our story. With overtwenty years as New Mexico’s professional theatre company, and a bustlingcampus with events across a wide range of disciplines, there are a lot ofstories to tell!

Responsibilities

Creating engaging visual designs with strongbranding, typography, and iconography.

Establishing a digital visual style guide.

Collaborating with supervisors to createcompelling design layouts and components.

Using website platform to design websitelayouts.

Further customizing website design using HTML,Markdown, CSS, and / or JavaScript

Coordinating with Communications Director tocreate and update site content as needed.

This is a work study eligible position only,and potential candidates must apply through UNM Jobs.

Minimum Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.

Preferred Qualifications

Applicant must be work study eligible at UNM

Required Skills and Experience

Proven work experience as a Web Designer

Demonstrable graphic design skills with astrong portfolio

Proficiency with Squarespace and Webflow

Excellent visual design skills withsensitivity to user-friendly interaction

Up-to-date with the latest Web trends

Ability to solve problems creatively andeffectively

Excellent written and verbal communicationskills

Independent time management skills

Proficiency in HTML, Markdown, CSS, and / orJavaScript is appreciated
