Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit | The Department of Recreation and Wellness (RecWell) is housed in the Division of Student Affairs. RecWell fosters comprehensive wellness by engaging students and the UNCG community in experiential and educational opportunities. We promote lifelong success through meaningful and inclusive programs and resources. RecWell offers comprehensive recreation and wellness programming including; fitness, aquatics, informal recreation, outdoor adventures, competitive sports, Esports, and wellness education. The department strives to provide opportunities that enhance student success. Position Summary | The Assistant Director, Fitness is responsible for the overall design, management, and implementation of a comprehensive fitness program for the students, faculty, staff and UNC Greensboro community. This includes leadership of two professional positions and a graduate assistant as well as student employees. The incumbent is charged with providing the long term strategic vision and planning for the fitness program. |
Minimum Qualifications |

Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates | Current American Red Cross First Aid and CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification (or ability to obtain within first 60-days). Current certification from one of the following organizations: AFAA, ACE, NCSA, or ACSM. |
