Chavis Student Center provides spaces and opportunities for the UNCP campus and community to create a holistic experience that builds connections by bridging the gap between academics and engagement. Primary Purpose of Position The Student Services Specialist is responsible for developing, managing, and enhancing student programming and operations within the Hawks Nest recreation center and the Chavis Student Center. This position provides leadership in student employee supervision and development, technology support, equipment management, and administrative coordination. The role also ensures seamless execution of evening and weekend events while maintaining high-quality services and resources for students, faculty, staff, and the campus community.
Job Description Key Responsibilities Programming & Student Services
- Plan, coordinate, and execute student programming and events for the Hawks Nest recreation center, including evening and weekend activities.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase student engagement in recreational programs, gaming events, and social activities.
- Collaborate with student organizations, academic departments, and university offices to enhance co-curricular programming.
- Facilitate group reservations, ensuring smooth operations and appropriate resource allocation.
- Manage and conduct daily operations for the Information Station and Hawks Nest recreation center and first floor setups
