Develop and lead IT strategy and manage the technology portfolio for assigned administrative departments within Wharton, including External Affairs, Human Resources, Wharton Operations, Finance and Administration, and the Wharton Global Youth Program. Collaborate with senior leadership and staff in these departments to drive technology initiatives, set multi-year strategies, and enhance technology services to meet organizational goals. This role involves overseeing technology portfolios, analyzing business processes, and guiding the implementation of technology initiatives to address departmental needs. Represent the interests of Wharton Computing and the assigned departments in strategic planning. Lead, develop, and mentor direct reports, fostering professional growth and a collaborative team culture.
Job Description
The successful candidate in this role will be a key member of Wharton Computing's Strategic Partnership team, ensuring administrative departments within the Wharton school, including External Affairs, Human Resources, Wharton Operations, and Finance and Administration, have the technology, insights, and support required to achieve their goals. Responsibilities include managing technology resources and priorities, analyzing business processes, and guiding the implementation of technology efforts that support operational and strategic objectives. The person in this position represents Wharton Computing to stakeholders, advocating for departmental technology needs, and promoting available services. Additionally, the role involves driving improvements that enhance efficiency and align with Wharton's broader mission. Leadership responsibilities include mentoring three direct reports and fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities :
- Technology Strategy and Portfolio Management : Develop and implement technology strategies for administrative departments, managing technology resources, prioritizing efforts, and guiding the adoption of tools and solutions that address departmental and organizational goals.
- Advocacy and Coordination : Act as a trusted advocate for the technology needs of assigned departments, ensuring their priorities are represented and integrated seamlessly into Wharton Computing's broader initiatives. Represent Wharton Computing services to stakeholders, highlighting available resources and solutions that support departmental and institutional goals. Facilitate coordination among stakeholders, internal teams, and external vendors.
- Process Improvement and Change Management : Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Lead change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and workflows.
- Relationship Management and Collaboration : Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and staff in assigned departments. Act as a liaison to align technology efforts with departmental goals and, when possible, coordinate these efforts across Wharton to support shared objectives. Team Leadership and Development : Mentor and guide a team of three direct reports, fostering their professional growth and creating a collaborative, innovative team environment.
- Technology Trends and Future Planning : Stay informed about emerging technology trends and apply insights to anticipate future needs, supporting the School's long-term goals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support Wharton Computing's mission and operations.
