Job Description Summary
Join the team at New Bolton Center, where we provide exceptional emergency, clinical, field, and diagnostic care for nearly 6,500 inpatients and 19,500 ambulatory farm patients. Located on 700 acres in Chester County, the campus offers some of the finest veterinary services available.Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties involving the daily care and feeding of animals and the cleaning and general upkeep of patient facilities. Provide assistance to the nursing department, as well as veterinary students on campus and veterinary staff. The Large Animal Attendant has vital duties that help maintain the hospital, including helping with patient care, teaching and general hospital maintenance.
Job Description
Under general supervision, perform a variety of duties involving the daily care and feeding of animals and the cleaning and general upkeep of stall facilities. Reports to the Evening Supervisor.
Responsibilities include :
Perform general patient care, maintain general maintenance and cleanliness of patient areas
- Provide daily maintenance of stall facilities, including cleaning and disinfecting stalls, as well as water and feed buckets
- Help to maintain patient treatment areas and equipment; clean area and equipment after treatments are performed stall-side and in treatment areas
- Organize and maintain stock of paperwork in all barns, and ensure critical care areas are fully stocked with fluids and other frequently used materials
- Feeding, grooming, and walking. Ensure patients have clean water, feed, and hay, per treatment orders or nurse / clinician
- Other general housekeeping and groundskeeping tasks
Assist with the movement of large animal patients and patient supplies
Contribute to a professional, safe, and efficient hospital environment

Qualifications
High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Large animal handling experience is required. Ability to operate a variety of motorized equipment including forklift, tractor, and standard dump truck required. Ability to perform strenuous work and tolerate exposure to weather, chemicals, and allergens required. A valid driver's license is required.
Large Animal Attendant A- 0-2 yrs. experience
Large Animal Attendant B - 2-3 yrs. experience
