Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach. This position will be responsible for assistance in all facets of the planning and organization of a highly competitive Division I program competing in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
Assists the Head Coach with all aspects of a sports program. Recruits athletes, mentors athletes, fosters athletic, emotional, and academic group of student athletes. Oversees sports equipment, practice plans and schedules, skill development, designs coaching strategies. Oversees public and media relations. Coordinates team travel and schedule. Adheres to all rules and regulations.
Assists with identifying, evaluating, and recruiting student athletes. Assists with the establishment of team practice and game schedules including travel. Designs skill development and coaching strategies for the team. Assists with equipment needs for the team. Assists with collaborating with marketing and communications to promote events. Assistant to maintain compliance with all rules and regulations of the University, NCAA, CAA, state and federal levels.
Must stand for long periods of time at games and at practice. May participate in drills or practices. May have to lift or transport equipment. Instructing and demonstrating physical skills while coaching; extensive travel via car, air and bus.
