Cleaner
This position is for the Facilities Management Department which is responsible for maintaining the campus buildings and grounds. The Facilities Management Department is comprised of three sub-groups, those being Custodial, Grounds and Maintenance. These groups are union positions. There is opportunity to move between groups based on seniority as positions become available.
Responsible for all aspects of general cleaning. These duties will include but will not be restricted to the following: emptying waste cans and sorting recycled materials, vacuuming carpets, rugs and runways, dusting, cleaning windows and wet mopping, moving furniture, removing snow, using floor buffers and scrubbers, cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies. Alternates between various buildings and complete work as assigned. Subject to alternating shift work and may include weekends and/or holidays.
The Cleaner Position primary functions include all aspects of cleaning, event set ups for various campus functions, maintaining equipment and supplies, and moving furniture and other equipment as needed.
Must move about campus and lift up to 40 pounds.
