Clinical Placement Specialist
The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is seeking qualified Clinical Placement Specialists. Recently ranked 2nd (tie) by US News & World Report for our Nurse Anesthesia DNP program, 4th (tie) for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing program, and 5th for our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner DNP program, the School of Nursing continues to be one of the most reputable and well-known nursing education schools in the country for both undergraduate and graduate level programs. The Clinical Placement Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh's School of Nursing plays a pivotal role in coordinating and managing the clinical training placements for students across the School’s nursing programs. This position is integral to ensuring that students are placed in high-quality clinical environments that meet both educational and accreditation standards.
Initiates, develops and manages the clinical placement process by overseeing the clinical affiliation agreement and student placement. Manages the web-based platform for clinical education information coordination. Ensures site specific clinical requirement compliance including immunizations, background checks, certifications, licenses, health forms, and drug screenings. Provides relevant program and reportable information.
- Perform outreach to establish new site partnerships and vet locations for compliance with accreditation standards.
- Manage program administrative operations and improve workflows to resolve complex issues.
- Secure and match students to qualified placement sites, ensuring alignment with curricular and program needs.
- Build and expand a network of placement sites, establishing long-term partnerships with stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and successful student placements to meet curriculum requirements and address site-related challenges.
- Continuously monitor sites and supervisors to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement marketing, education, and outreach strategies to expand the program's reach.
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary.
