Department Coordinator
The Department Coordinator will Initiate, coordinate, implement and retain electronic documentation for all administrative and faculty actions related to the departmental(s) chair’s office within the Biological Sciences and Neuroscience Departments of the Kenneth P. Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences, Natural Sciences Division. Serve as a liaison between the department(s), the Dietrich School Dean’s Office, the Dietrich School Payroll and Sponsored Projects Teams and various University Business Offices. Also responsible for: processing travel expense reimbursements, advance settlements, One-Card and Panther Express purchases, professional service contract agreements, department event coordination, department website updates, as well as general office management and oversight of student worker duties. Provides comparable service and back-up to other Dietrich School departments as needed.
Performs administrative assistant support work of moderate complexity.
The successful candidate will use a computer extensively. They must be capable of oral, written, and electronic communications. Must be able to sit for long periods of time as well as physically negative through a large complex of buildings while carrying supplies and/or pushing supply carts. In addition to a computer, they must be able to use a telephone and other general office equipment including but not limited to photocopiers, scanners, printers, etc.
This position is generally sedentary within an office setting, but the ability to travel around campus is occasionally necessary. Also, must be able to pick-up and carry 25 pounds.
