Director of Marketing and Strategy Deployment
LifeX is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Marketing and Strategy Deployment. This position plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that drives the organization’s mission of accelerating the development and success of life sciences startups. The Director will lead LifeX's marketing and creative services function, ensuring alignment with the organization’s strategic priorities and overseeing strategy deployment to achieve measurable outcomes. This role requires a visionary leader who can balance strategic oversight with operational execution, fostering collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in marketing, communications, and strategy deployment, preferably within the life sciences, healthcare, or startup ecosystems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing plans that achieve measurable results.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and guide diverse teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with a track record of engaging diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and a deep understanding of digital marketing tools and analytics.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).

Directs marketing and communications strategies and outreach within a business unit and adheres to University vision, strategy, branding, and guiding principles. Develops communication tools and marketing plans to support goals and strategic direction. Researches and analyzes trends to identify new markets.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Collaborate with LifeX leadership to define and implement strategic marketing priorities and initiatives that align with LifeX’s mission and long-term goals.
- Integrate strategy deployment principles into all aspects of marketing and communications to ensure initiatives are effectively executed and deliver measurable impact.
- Marketing Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and execute comprehensive, multi-channel marketing strategies to enhance LifeX’s visibility, engage stakeholders, and support the success of its life sciences ventures.
- Lead the LifeX Marketing and Communications team to deliver creative, data-driven campaigns that effectively communicate the organization’s value proposition.
- Implement targeted public relations efforts to elevate LifeX’s reputation within the life sciences and entrepreneurial ecosystems.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, startup founders, investors, corporate partners, and the broader life sciences community.
- Foster collaboration with academic institutions, industry leaders, and government agencies to support LifeX’s mission and strategic initiatives.
- Creative Oversight and Brand Management:
- Oversee the development and production of creative assets, ensuring consistent messaging and alignment with LifeX’s brand identity.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, freelancers, and creative professionals to deliver high-quality marketing materials on time and within budget.
- Operational Excellence:
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of marketing initiatives, using data and analytics to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Ensure marketing projects are managed efficiently from inception to completion, meeting timelines and budget requirements.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability
- Champion professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and contribute to LifeX’s success.
Position is mostly sedentary but may require travel to meetings on and off campus.
