What are the responsibilities and job description for the Steamfitter position at The University of Pittsburgh?
Steamfitter
Well-organized, have good communication skills, and maintain an exceptional work ethics. Develops a rapport with the customer and discuss the requirements of the job. Works alongside all applicable personnel in a professional manner. Proficient and knowledgeable in maintaining and installing mechanical systems. This is to include, but not limited to: steam, hot water heat, chilled water, condenser water, refrigeration, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. May have to work on large centrifugal chillers, rooftop air conditioners, walk in coolers, and environmental boxes. Maintains mechanical systems in all buildings at the University under the jurisdiction of senior management. There are times when renovation work is required along with new installations. Emergency situations do arise and the steamfitter must respond immediately. Must be able to work in adverse conditions. These conditions can include confined spaces, extreme heights, damp and humid areas, and hot or cold conditions.
