Sterilization/Dispensary Clerk
As a Sterilization/Dispensary Clerk, the incumbent will participate in all phases of preventative maintenance and sterilization of instruments used in the school’s dental clinics. Duties will also include distribution and collection of instruments and supplies from clinic dispensaries. This position requires attentiveness to inventory control, basic computer skills, and strong service orientation. Knowledge of or experience with standard sterilization practices within a clinical setting is helpful though not mandatory.
Operates and maintains sterilization equipment and processes instruments through washers and autoclaves utilizing proper and best practice sterilization methods. Disburses sanitized instruments to dispensaries. Maintains the bio-hazard room and oversees proper waste disposal. Cross-trains for dental dispensary clerk, central supply stockroom, and/or the instrument store.
