USD Sanford School of Medicine is seeking a Department Assistant for the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pathology, and Surgery. Primary responsibilities include managing clinical rotations for medical students, day-to-day operations of the department, and working directly with the chairs to implement the medical school curriculum.
As the primary point of contact for both students and faculty the department assistant will
- Independently structure clinical rotations for both students and faculty
- Run and analyze reports to verify student progress
- Communicate with faculty across the state to enhance student education
- Work with leadership teams to interpret and communicate medical school policies

As an essential member of the department, candidates must be able to multi-task and work collaboratively as part of a dynamic team. Experience in health care or higher education would be beneficial.
